Feb 15th and March 15th Training Dates Introduced!

February 15-19, March 15-19

WHAT: EETC Energy Auditor training, including training in the operation of the REM/Design Computerized Energy Audit developed by Architectural Energy Corporation. This Certification is necessary for auditors planning to perform energy audits for “Efficiency Kansas” Programs.

WHO: Remodeling contractors, Energy Raters and Auditors, Insulators, Mechanical Contractors, State Weatherization Program Inspectors and Crews, and any home repair/renovation-related business that wants to set itself apart from the crowd of competitors. This is an intensive course; basic understanding of science, mathematics and basic computer competence is helpful.

WHY: To prepare participants to:
a) establish the “as-is” performance of residential structures,
b) to prioritize improvements,
c) reliably predict savings and d) guarantee results to customers.
The course is designed specifically to:
1) Provide a foundational knowledge of the energy use characteristics of homes; the physics of heat, air, and moisture transfer in buildings.
2) Teach participants to successfully collect data in the field, enter data into the REM/Design audit software, and complete a fundamental computerized diagnostic energy audit
3) Introduce the student to the Home Performance Contracting business model – an awareness of the market of computerized home energy audits and home energy retrofits
4) Provide basic technical and practical knowledge necessary to enter into the Home Performance Contracting market
To receive a certificate of successful completion of training, participants must pass the classroom exam, complete a field data collection test, and successfully submit two audits for desk review.

CLASS SCHEDULE:
Classes are January 11-15, February 15-19, March 15-19
Monday - Friday
8:30 am to 5:00 PM

CLASS MATERIALS NEEDED: The course reference book, Residential Energy: Cost Savings and Comfort for Existing Buildings, is included. Due to the density of the course material, students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the reference book in advance of classes. Laptop computers will be available, but students may bring their own laptops and download the auditing software for use outside of class.

Industry Standards: The EETC Energy Auditor training meets or exceeds the Building Science informational and instructional requirements and expectations of the Building Performance Institute (BPI) for Building Analyst, and Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) for Home Energy Auditor. (This class does not cover the mortgage and HERS Ratings-specific components of the RESNET Rater exam). The EETC Energy Auditor training is accepted by the States of Missouri and Kansas.
