Basic Duct Work Trouble Shoot and Balometer (Hood) Static Pressure Testing

Hands-on short course with HVAC Expert Eric Kjelshus (over 30 years of experience)

April 20th
9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Hands-on short course
Course cost: $150.00

HVAC Master Technician Eric Kjelshus will lecture and then complete a hands-on demonstration of a 3 minute, 10 minute, and 3-hour test for duct work design in real-world application. All three tests will be taught (scaled down version of the 3-hour test included). Short intensive hands-on course includes the opportunity for each student to actually perform the short tests and use the equipment individually. Anyone who has struggled with a duct blaster will be interested in the use of the balometer to perform somewhat similar testing – without requiring the blocking off of all the other registers.

This is NOT a class to teach detailed HVAC diagnostics – but is a great short course for any contractor or auditor who would like a better basic understanding of duct work design, and what causes holes in heat exchangers/ruins compressors.

Basic Test and Balance of air flow, filters, and motors, based on ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors of America) and NATE (North American Technician Excellence) Airflow testing – including an overview of how to apply Manual J (7).

Dress for work, you will be dealing with some pretty dirty duct work!
