BLOWING WALLS W/CELLULOSE

Short intensive hands-on course includes the opportunity for each student to actually blow cellulose insulation into a wall and feed the insulation machine. Instruction in calculating how many bags of cellulose are needed, where to purchase cellulose, and information about cellulose as insulation material (as compared to fiberglass or foam) is also provided. Dress for work, blowing cellulose is a “dirty” job. Dust masks will be provided.

The Energy and Enviromental Training Center of Kansas City (EETCKC) educates individuals with the professional and working knowledge of "building science" in order to promote sustainability and encourage energy independence through clean energy and conservation.
The EETCKC has the bandwidth to train entire organizations as well as the personal touch required for individuals to thrive in an engaging and inspiring learning environment. The EETCKC's training is geared for adults’ with the understanding that adults learn by a) being fully engaged and b) doing!

EETCKC's training courses are designed for current and future contractors, energy auditors and weatherization workers. Specific certificates and training offered in affiliation with the Metropolitan Energy Center:
  • Building Science for Weatherization Workers Certification for the city of Kansas City, MO
  • Energy Auditor Certification for the state of Missouri
  • EETC Energy Auditor Certification for the state of Kansas – qualifies auditors who want to perform audits for Efficiency Kansas
  • Energy Auditor Certification qualifies auditors to perform audits for the MGE and KCPL audits in KCMO
  • BPI Building Analyst Certification
